The Grand Final of the Repco Supercars Championship

The world's greatest innovation and engineering challenge contributing to a more sustainable mobility future

The South Australian Motor Sport Board (SAMSB) was re-established in September 2022 to deliver on the Government’s commitment to return the Adelaide 500 to the streets of Adelaide. Since then, the event has gone from strength to strength. In 2025, it entered a new era as the bp Adelaide Grand Final, becoming the season-ending event of the Repco Supercars Championship.
As promoter of the bp Adelaide Grand Final, SAMSB also plays a central role in delivering some of South Australia’s most significant motorsport events. This includes overseeing the safe and successful staging of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, a globally recognised event held biennially in South Australia.
SAMSB manages the Government’s sponsorship support for the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and the Adelaide Rally, two highly regarded annual events delivered by Massive Events Pty Ltd.
On 19 February 2026, it was announced that SAMSB will further expand its portfolio to include management of the MotoGP™ Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. From 2027, this iconic three-day international event will be staged in Adelaide each November.
Bringing MotoGP™ to Adelaide marks a major milestone for South Australia’s events calendar, strengthening the state’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class motorsport while delivering significant economic and tourism benefits.
Beyond event delivery, SAMSB provides expert advice to the Government on motorsport-related matters, supporting the continued growth and success of the sport across South Australia.
